Die Alte Post in Mellenbach-Glasbach verändert sich zu einer Jugendherberge mit einer „Offenen Küche“. Es wird geschlafen, gegessen und zusammen gekocht.
Die Offene Küche im Erdgeschoss ist Schnittstelle zwischen Touristen und Bewohnern: Es wird dort nicht nur gefrühstückt. Es werden zusammen mit den Bewohnern kleine Kochkurse angeboten.
Der Kräutergarten ergänzt die regionale Küche und Loungebereiche laden auf ein Stück Kuchen und Kaffee ein.
Deckenöffnungen verbinden die einzelnen Geschosse. Die Alte Post erhält mehr Freiraum und Licht, eine neue Identität. Ein neuer Treffpunkt für Jung und Alt entsteht. Mellenbach-Glasbach wird wieder zum Leben erweckt.
Das Bestandsgebäude wird saniert und um eine Terrasse erweitert. Die neue Fensterfront schafft mehr Licht.
